1. At the state fair, one hundred thousand hot dogs were sold. If 0.2 oz of mustard is used on each of the hot dogs sold, how many 16-oz bottles of mustard were needed?
2. Lincoln School has eight periods each day. Six periods are 48 minutes in length, one period is 59 minutes in length and lunch period is 30 minutes in length. The school day starts at 7:35 a.m. with 4 minute passing time between periods. What time does Lincoln School end for the day?
3. The ration of Drew's salary to Sandy's salary is 4 to 5. If Sandy earns $3300 per month, how much of a raise will Drew have to receive to make the ratio of his salary to Sandy's salary 5 to 6?
4. During the first half of a basketball game Molly missed three of her five field goal attempts. During the second half she made 80% of her 15 field goal attempts. What was her field goal shooting percentage for the game?
5. How many different amounts of money can you pay if you use four coins including only pennies, nickels, and dimes?
6. Simplify
Express your answer as a mixed numeral.
7. When you multiply a certain number by 3 and then subtract 1/3, you get the same result as when you multiply the number by 2 and add 1/2. What is the number?
8.Jill and Josephine decided to sell cookies. They decided to calculate the selling price by marking up their cost a full 100%. Initially the cookies did not sell, so they marked them down 20% and then they all sold. What percent profit did they actually make?
9. A sign on the end of a roll of canvas says that the roll contains 35 square yards. The uniform width of the canvas is 7 feet. What is the length of the piece of canvas, in yards?
10. Jeni invested $180.00 in jeweled pins at the antique sale. Each pin cost the same amount. She was forced to sell them at a $3.00 discount each and received a total of $135.00. How many pins did she buy?
