Individual Rounds in the Math Masters Competitions are timed (10 minutes), and calculators are allowed.

1. A machine can fill 50 boxes of nails in 8 minutes. Each box contains 200 nails. How many boxes can the machine fill in one hour?
2. Joe bought 28 stamps from the Post Office. Some are 18-cent stamps and the others are 32-cent stamps. The stamps cost $7.42 altogether. How many 32-cent stamps did Joe buy?
3. Two parking meters are pictured with the times left as shown. How much more time does the one meter have left on it than the other?
4. The member of Mrs. Grant's class are standing in a circle; they are evenly spaced and are numbered in order. The student with number 5 is standing directly across from the student with number 19. How many students are in the class?
5. Some keys on Joe's typewrite do not type correctly. For example, when the "S" key is pressed, it types an "M". When Joe read the following addition sentence after typing it, he found that the sum was typed correctly but the two addends were typed incorrectly. Which number on Joe's typewrite typed incorrectly?
34,729 + 37,543 = 76,312
6. An airline booked 108 passengers for a flight with a maximum capacity of 93. By what percent (rounded to the nearest whole percent) did the airline overbook the flight?
7. A recipe calls for 2 2/3 cups of flour and will make enough to serve 8 people. How much flour is required if the recipe is modified to serve six people?
8. Three-fourths of Ms. Zorn's class are girls. Four-sevenths of Mr. Pruitt's class are girls. If there are 32 students in Ms. Zorn's class and 28 students in Mr. Pruitt's class, what fraction of the combined classes are girls?
